Law Office of Kathleen JP Tabor, LLC
"A Goal Without a Plan is Just a Wish!"
Family Law
This firm approaches family law through the process known as "collaborative practice." The process is based on the belief that the best interestsĀ of the family are resolved through a method which empowers the individuals to work together with less contention than typically occurs in adversarial litigation.

The participants (spouses or significant others) each retain their own collaboratively-trained attorney to assist in the transitioning from one family unit to two family units.

The collaborative process also engages other collaboratively trained experts to assist through the process as a team. These experts and consultants may assist with economic, non-economic, emotional, or therapeutic matters relevant to the transistion process.

The Collaborative Team may be comprised of any or all of the following professionals:

- Attorneys (one for each spouse)
- Divorce Coach (typically one for each spouse)
- Child Specialist (one for the family)
- Financial Specialist (one for the family)
- Mediator (may also serve as a "case manager")

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THE 'COLLABORATIVE PROCESS' IS NOT SUITABLE FOR ALL FAMILY SITUATIONS.

Consult with your attorney or call this office to explore the options available to you that best meets the needs of your family situation.
